As a Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) practitioner, Brenda is at the forefront of promoting positive parenting practices within the child care industry. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom as she takes on the role of a community organizer. Brenda consistently champions systemic changes that have a far-reaching impact, from the local community level to state and federal arenas.

TSGT Retired USAF
Patricia A. Hornsby is a remarkable individual with a rich and diverse background. Patricia’s journey began in the United States Air Force, where she served as TSGT. During her time stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico and Bitburg Air Base in Germany, she embraced a unique passion – umpiring softball games for children, men, and women. Her dedication to creating enjoyable experiences for others was evident, even during her military service.
In 1984, Patricia’s path led her to Charlotte, North Carolina, on a special duty assignment. It was during this time that she decided to purchase a home in Charlotte, North Carolina, the place she had grown to love and would someday want to settle down and be part of the community.
Upon retiring from the Air Force, Patricia’s commitment to personal growth and education continued. She diligently pursued her associate degree, further enhancing her knowledge and skills. In 1996, she made her way back to Charlotte.
Soon after her return, Patricia joined the team at Bank of America, where she brought her dedication and expertise to the corporate world. However, her heart remained close to the idea of making a difference in the lives of children.
In 2007, Patricia’s path aligned with the mission of Superlative Childcare Inc. She had the opportunity to meet the owner and, since then, has been wholeheartedly devoted to teaching and working with children. Her journey has been a testament to her unwavering commitment to both personal and professional growth, as well as her genuine passion for nurturing and educating the next generation. Patricia A. Hornsby is a true inspiration, leaving a positive impact on all she encounters.

Maria’s extensive experience in early childhood education dates back to the late 1970s. She initiated her journey during high school and completed her CEO/Teacher Associate training. While undergoing training, Maria started teaching at local CMS elementary schools, a private school, and two Academy daycares. She also generously volunteered at her children’s schools, showing her unwavering commitment to education.
Education is at the core of Maria’s professional growth. She graduated from high school in 1981 and continued her education at CPCC and UNCC in Charlotte, earning an associate degree. She holds certifications in CPR/AED and has completed the NC DCEE Professional Development Training, earning a Certificate of Completion. Maria’s dedication and continuous learning make her a valuable asset in the field of early childhood education.

Minister Lyddia Hancock, a native of Asheville, NC, discovered her profound connection to music at a young age, and it quickly became one of her lifelong passions. However, her journey took an unexpected turn when she relocated to Charlotte and received a divine calling to ministry. From that point forward, the word of God became her guiding light in all her endeavors.
Lyddia, a dedicated mother of five and proud grandmother of 12, now also holds the cherished title of “Gigi” to three wonderful boys. Her commitment to caring for children has spanned over four decades, and it has consistently brought her immense joy. She firmly believes that nurturing children with positive structure and boundless love is the key to shaping their future and fostering a cycle of giving back to the world.

Teantie Stover-Adams is a Charlotte, NC native with a remarkable journey that has come full circle. Teantie is a licensed cosmetologist and CEO of Brazilians Blow Outs & Beauty LLC, a full-service salon and spa. Her passion for her work runs deep, as she’s on a mission to make her clients feel truly exceptional.
Teantie’s journey in the world of beauty started long ago when she was just a young girl with a dream. In 2019, that dream became a reality as she obtained her cosmetology license. Her love for the beauty industry is undeniable, but her heart also beats for teaching. In 2012, Teantie earned her cosmetology educator license, allowing her to share her knowledge and expertise with others.
What makes Teantie’s story even more inspiring is the location of her salon. Situated off West Boulevard, it’s a place deeply rooted in her community, where she grew up. Teantie intentionally returned to her roots to give back to her community in meaningful ways.
